Hello!
I’m so glad you’ve decided to take the first steps to seek counseling! Whether you take this journey with me, or another clinician, you will find it to be a wonderful opportunity to better your life in many ways. We all have struggles in life and it can be so beneficial to have somebody by our side to help us navigate them. That’s what counseling is all about! You do not have to do it alone.
A little about myself; I have a Ph.D. in biology and I’m also a certified yoga teacher so I enjoy bringing aspects of physiology and neurobiology to my clients and educating them on how our bodies respond to some of the emotions we experience.
I have a particular interest in working with a diverse population of people who have a history of trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, LGBTQ+, and relational issues. I use many different approaches and techniques when working with my clients such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems, the Gottman Method, and trauma-focused interventions. No two people are alike and therefore I like a fluid, flexible approach based on my client’s needs.
I am currently completing my MSc degree in clinical counseling at Brenau University while working under the supervision of Dr. Melanie Covert. I am a member of the ACA (American Counseling Association), APA (American Psychological Association), and Psi Chi.
I truly enjoy working with all clients and guiding them toward their goals.
I hope to meet you soon.
