Welcome, I’m Christie, and I am so glad you have taken this courageous step! I am a Graduate Counseling Intern here at Awakenings Counseling Center, currently completing my Master of Science in Clinical Counseling at Brenau University.
My role is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space to help you navigate life’s challenges and rediscover your inner strength. I believe that healing begins when we feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Together, we will explore your experiences, identify patterns, and develop tools that empower you to move forward with clarity and confidence.
I have a deep interest in working with children and adolescents, but I welcome and work with individuals of all ages. My clinical interests include supporting clients through depression, anxiety, trauma, emotion regulation, and identity-related issues. I am passionate about helping others understand themselves and their issues more fully and build the resilience needed to thrive. Outside of the counseling space, I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, working out, and spending time with my family and friends. I find that staying active and connected helps me maintain balance, and I often encourage clients to explore what brings them joy and grounding in their own lives.
